Our cry and hope for Haiti is for peace and lasting change.

The Republic of Haiti is a country on the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea, east of Cuba and Jamaica, and south of The Bahamas. With an estimated population of 11.5 million it is the most populous Caribbean country. The capital and largest city is Port-au-Prince. Haiti has one of the world’s lowest GDP per capita and is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Haiti continues to suffer. A 2010 earthquake took approx. 300,000 lives and rendered 1.6 million people homeless. A cholera outbreak followed claiming thousands more lives. Mass protests and high fuel prices plagued the years 2018-2021. The President was assassinated in July 2021. This was followed by another earthquake a month later. Since the collapse of the government armed gangs wreak havoc.

OM Caribbean has helped over the years with the needs of a small school, including repairs to the property. However, due to the unrest over the last two years it has been difficult to carry out repairs. However, this school by the grace of God has been able to continue to operate while other schools couldn’t. OM’s passion is to continue to help.

Please pray for God to break through and bring lasting change in this land desperate for salvation.
